Arizona Department of Gaming Cracks Down on Unlicensed Gambling Operators
The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has issued cease-and-desist orders to six gambling operators, accusing them of running unlicensed gambling activities targeting Arizona residents. These platforms, offering services such as slot-style games, sports wagering, sweepstakes, horse race betting, and peer-to-peer betting exchanges, were found to be operating outside of Arizona’s legal gambling framework.
Platforms Targeted in Crackdown
Among the companies facing enforcement are ARB Gaming, LLC (operating MODO.us and Modo platforms), Epic Hunts (a sweepstakes provider), Generiz (sports betting site), ProphetX (peer-to-peer betting exchange), and MyBookie and BetUS.com.pa (multi-vertical operators). These companies face allegations of illegal gambling, money laundering, and operating criminal enterprises under Arizona state law.
Public Alert on Financial and Identity Risks
In conjunction with enforcement actions, the ADG issued a public warning about the financial and identity theft risks associated with illegal gambling. The department cautioned that unauthorized gambling operators often leave users vulnerable to fraud and financial loss.
