Michigan Man Wins $500,000 on $5 Spectacular Wild Time Lottery Ticket
A Macomb County resident has won $500,000 after upgrading to a $5 Spectacular Wild Time instant lottery ticket — a move that changed his life just two months after making the switch from the $2 version of the game.
$5 Upgrade Leads to Half-Million Jackpot
The 69-year-old winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, revealed he had only recently started playing the $5 ticket when he hit the top prize.
“I’m glad I made the move up to the $5 games because it sure paid off,” he said.
At first, the player believed he had won just a small amount — $5 or $10 — after matching the number six. But after scratching off the prize amount, he saw several zeros.
“It was unbelievable,” he added.
Winning Ticket Purchased in Saint Clair Shores
The winning scratcher was purchased at Little Mack Beer & Wine, located at 28480 Little Mack Avenue in Saint Clair Shores.
Michigan Lottery Continues Hot Streak
This win adds to a string of recent big Michigan Lottery scratch-off wins:
-
In June, a Michigan player won $1,000,000 on a $10 ticket.
-
In July, a North Carolina mother of five won $4.7 million on the digital game Outlaw’s Loot.
With instant games continuing to produce life-changing jackpots, Michigan players are proving that sometimes a small switch — like upgrading to a $5 ticket — can make all the difference.
