The upcoming SBC Summit 2025 will feature a highly anticipated highlight: the Legends Charity Game, scheduled for Monday, September 15. Organized by SBC Events, this event promises to be one of the most iconic moments of the summit, bringing together legendary football stars for a meaningful cause.
SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark expressed his excitement, describing the game as a “dream come true.” The match will see Portugal’s football legends—such as Luís Figo, Deco, Carvalho, Simão, Maniche, Fábio Coentrão, Vitor Baia, Nuno Gomes, and Hélder Postiga—face off against a World Legends team captained by Georgios Karagounis, with other football icons like Edwin van der Sar, Cafu, Javier Zanetti, Christian Karembeu, Patrice Evra, Carles Puyol, and Marek Hamšík participating. The game will be played in front of a crowd of 60,000 at either Estádio da Luz or Estádio José Alvalade, depending on Champions League scheduling.
The event aims to raise over €1,000,000, with proceeds donated to four charities: the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the Portuguese Red Cross, International Alert, and another organization. Sojmark emphasized the emotional and cultural significance of the event, highlighting how football’s universal appeal brings people together and fosters community.
Reflecting on his personal journey, Sojmark shared that he never imagined organizing such a star-studded match, reminiscing about childhood days playing Championship Manager and dreaming of assembling legendary teams. He also noted the emotional stories and rivalries that add depth to the game, such as Portugal’s Euro 2004 final against Greece, captained by Karagounis, which will add historic resonance to the match.
